Visuality Systems is pleased to announce the release of YNQ 2.4.0, featuring numerous enhancements.

Breaking Changes

  • Kerberos implementation update
    MIT Kerberos is now the default and supported Kerberos implementation, selected to enable upcoming capabilities such as IAKerb and Local KDC support. As part of this transition, Heimdal is no longer supported.

Security & Authentication

  • YNQ Client and Server running on Windows platforms now support Kerberos authentication.
  • Kerberos is now preferred over NTLM by default.
  • Improved Kerberos robustness (clock-skew recovery, SPN handling, Netlogon support).

Client Enhancements

  • New YNQClient interactive shell application for executing POSIX commands over mounted paths.
  • Improved performance with compounded SMB request support.

Server Enhancements & Management

  • Point and Print Support (Experimental):
    • Initial implementation of Point and Print functionality, enabling centralized printer driver management.
  • Persistent share configuration via the Server Control Tool.
  • Improved stability and timeout handling in management tools.

Stability & Quality

  • Improved SMB credit handling during connection establishment.
  • Enhanced stability across Windows, QNX, VxWorks, macOS, and Big-Endian platforms.
